THE GOLF GETAWAY CLUB |
We
are two ladies who started playing golf just over three years ago.
We really enjoy getting away on short golf breaks - and we try to
do this as often as we can. One of the problems we have is making
up a viable group of players - we find groups of 4 to be the most
enjoyable. As working women (and novice golfers) our network of fellow
golfers is quite small. Sometimes we find it difficult to get a time
when there are four of our group free at the same time. This means
we often lose an opportunity to get away and play golf.
We know that our enjoyment of golf and travel with a group of liked-minded
ladies is widely shared. That's why we have developed a plan to help
lady golfers network more effectively.
|
|
|
We
set up GolfGetawayClub.co.uk for lady golfers who want to
get away to play golf, and would like to link up with others in
a similar position. The main purpose of the club is to make it easier
to "get away", to have a break, to play golf with other
ladies, to meet new people and make new friends.
We
thought that some ladies may find it rather daunting to join such
a group, so we also offer an alternative. For those who would like
all the details taken care of, it is possible to join us in beautiful
Provence, France where we will meet and greet at the airport
and host a small "house party", providing breakfast each
day and a "chauffeur" service to golf courses or sightseeing
excursions.

| The
Sea Club, Cala Ratjada, Mallorca |
|
Cala
Ratjada, an attractive seaside town in the North East of the
island of Mallorca, is now only one hour on the new motorway from
the airport and close to some of the finest golf courses on the
island.
The town is centred on the port and pedestrianized promenade where
there are many cafes and restaurants, all within easy walking distance
of The Sea Club, a charming family-owned and run hotel.
|
|
 |
With
just nineteen individually styled ensuite rooms, with sunny patios
and a pool terrace, The Sea Club makes a peaceful and relaxing
base from which to sample the local courses. |
|
Brit owners Luis Cumberledge and Jenny Saunders are hosts who treat
their visitors as family friends, and guests appreciate the informal
atmosphere and high quality cuisine on offer. The medieval hilltop
towns of Arta and Capdepera are close by, as are superb sandy
beaches.
The hotel is now open year round and welcomes golfers looking for
winter or spring breaks when the courses are less busy and the weather
is pleasant and balmy without becoming too hot. Non-golfers may
enjoy taking part in one of the art or yoga classes at The Sea Club
|
|
|
|
 |
There
are four local golf courses, Canyamel, Son Servera, Pula and Capdepera,
all set in spectacular mountain scenery with stunning views over the
island. Pula has had a redesign aided by Olazabal and is a challenging
course generally reckoned to be worth traveling to from all over the
island. All are attractive with excellent facilities including restaurants
and Golf |
Capdepera
has a delightful setting, where the back nine holes climb into the
foothills Arta mountains. Players seeking a greater challenge have
the Alcanada course, designed by Robert Trent Jones for the more advanced
and adventurous player only a short drive away on the north coast
